Perl Candidate working through my Novitiate, seeking wisdom and knowledge from those already ordained.

I use Perl mostly at work with ActiveState Perl on Windows. I work in a Windows environment, but at least I can still choose my tools. I use Perl for Windows administration, reading / writing Excel, generating and emailing reports, etc... It has helped me to automate many routine tasks, freeing me from the drudgery of work and allowing me to spend more time meditating at the Monastery.

I love to spend time in meditation at the Monastery, where everyday I am reminded how early I am into my walk with Perl. Not a day goes by where I don't learn something new, or find a new way for Perl to make my life easier.

I am sincerely grateful to the Perl Monks community for all the great information here! I have yet to ask a question (outside of the CB) simply because I have easily found the information via Super Search. I am truly amazed at the patience practiced by so many of the regular contributors here.

Perl is like art for left-brainers.

You gained 1 experience point. Congratulations, you have been promoted to Monk! You have 200 points until level 8 - Pilgrim.

Well, I made Monk today. Not sure what I did to deserve that. I still feel I am a Novice.

Blah!

How do I post a question effectively?
