Where were you three years ago when I was stuck in a position I hated? :)

I've studiously avoided certifications. Even if you're good at what you do and just have a cert as a resume line item, you only end up working with other people who have no skills beyond a cert.

The very reason I've come to prefer Perl is not because it's the best language out there, but because it tends to attract some of the best people.
