I haven't followed the node in question very closely, but there are some reasons for the downvotes (just educated guesses from my side):
- The title is absolutely meaningless. When you read it, you have no idea about the topic
- The code snippet doesn't run on its own, so it's hard to try it out
- The question is a very general one, and is hard to answer in a few short lines
- Your last sentence, Although, I have learned that this place is majorly competive and I am not one of the top monks ... sounds rather accusingly, and for no good reason
When you ask volunteers, you should make your best effort to make your question readable, unoffensive and in such a way that it can easily be answered.
As a reward you'll get both good answers and positive reputation.
If we have the feeling that you don't put effort into your questions, we feel abused, and sometimes react with downvotes and harsh answers.
