I think you never really tried a modern Unix shell like zsh, tcsh or bash. Otherwise I cannot understand why you are saying this.	[reply]

a modern Unix shell like zsh, tcsh or bash. All so good that there are only 2 alternatives (except sh & csh & fish & ...) to fix the bad bits.
