Hi perlprogrammer.
I have used gvim on our WinXP machine before. It's a powerful editor but I'm not averse to using emacs or xemacs. If the machine I'm using doesn't have either editor installed, opening notepad or the ancient DOS command 'edit' will suffice. <grin> ~Katie Edit: Added relevant links mentioned in the post.
