One thing that I find interesting here is that the ratio of social skills is inverse & directly proportional to coding skills throughout the Monastery. My theory is that in order to be be Really Good at something, you need to sacrifice other elements of your life. Most young doctors in the USA, for example, also suffer from severe shortage of social skills since they've spent no time going out with other people in the years on end they went to medical school & then as interns. It's a savant-like phenomenon, bearing so similarities to Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man, where you have a grown man who can memorize the phone book, but can't have a simple conversation. Just not so extreme... SO - set in that context: Caveat Emptor!
