in reply to $File::Find::prune

I may be wrong but $dir is always set to '/some_dir' in process..

So I can't explain how you get "skipping" printed.

    If you add the line
    print "Got name = [$File::Find::name] dir = [$File::Find::dir]\n";
    before your if statement, I think you'll see what's going wrong. $File::Find::dir doesn't contain what you think it does.
