Thanks for a well-written reply. I think you make the point I was trying to make better than me. The point I was trying to make was not that TIMTOWTDI is a bad thing and that it is the reason for unmaintainable code. Just that it might appear to be the reason for unmaintainable code to someone that is not proficient in the language. The problem is not the language, but as you point out poor programming practices and the quality of the developers. Well any way the post was just an attempt to structure some thoughts I got from reading the discussion I mentioned. I totally agree that the merits of TIMTOWTDI is a different discussion.
