Sybase::CTlib on Windows

spdiquattro has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is there a place I can get a pre-built version of Sybase:CTlib for Windows anywhere? I've tried ActivePerl's PPM to install it but it dies saying it can't extract files from a .tgz it has downloaded. I've searched the web and it appears the only other way is to build it using formidable C compiler which I don't have. I don't know that there's an easy way to do this but I'm interested in knowing if there is...thanks.

      Your suggestion is probably a good one, however I have to support an older piece of software for a customer. I'm just trying to debug it so I don't have to rewrite it...thanks.

    The Sybase::CTlib module that I find on CPAN is part of sybperl. The uwinnipeg rep (http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/) has a ppm for sybperl:

    ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/sybperl.ppd

    Cheers,

    In addition to the other comments, there are ActiveState compatible .zip files at http://www.peppler.org/downloads/ActiveState/ which you should be able to use (Note - I don't use perl under Windows, so I can't help much beyond having the binaries available for download...)
