Pedagogues launch Tutorials Quest

by jdporter (Paladin)
on Jun 27, 2007 at 15:51 UTC ( [id://623657]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

In an effort to improve the breadth and depth of the articles in the Tutorials section, the Pedagogues have created a permanent "bulletin board" where they post requests for new tutorials: Tutorials Quest.

We need people not only to write tutorials, but to suggest new tutorial ideas. Ideas on how to improve the Tutorial solicitation process are also welcome.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

    Hi jdporter,

Excellent initiative! I have one question, though:

Do you want the suggestions to be sent by private messages or as new nodes or as reply to this node?

    Cheers,

    lin0
If you have a suggestion for a tutorial to be written, please /msg Pedagogues with your idea.
is what it says in Tutorials Quest

        Hi FunkyMonk,

That is true but I was more interested on the request by the OP on "Ideas on how to improve the Tutorial solicitation process are also welcome". Moreover, I think that a private message is good for comments like: "I would love a tutorial on topic X" but it would not be as good, IMHO, for the cases in which the sender would like to describe an idea in greater detail. Anyways, those are just my 2 cents.

        Cheers,

        lin0

      dbwiz,
Don't forget Keeping Tutorials Current. I am pretty sure planetscape and a few others have tried to ensure that the same situation doesn't happen moving forward but I haven't re-ran that code to be sure.

      Cheers - L~R

The Tutorials section is now fairly well maintained by an active committee, so the problem your script attempts to help resolve has been pretty well resolved. And I should point out that linking meditations nodes into Tutorials is a matter of resolved policy (though it could change), so it doesn't do us any good to tell us we have meditations linked in Tutorials.

The only foreseeable need for your script will be when (if) we go back and convert all the crappy unlisted tutorial nodes into something else (probably Meditations).

A word spoken in Mind will reach its own level, in the objective world, by its own weight
