Now THAT is why I would reach for XML::Twig

There are many CPAN modules and many authors. Some stand the test of time, most don't. Some address part of the problem space, others don't.

But when you talk XML, you have to talk Michael Rodriguez? Why? Not because he wrote a module to address one task for one job he had at one time, but because he is down in the trenches on a daily basis for YEARS solving REAL problems in XML.

Beyond his long-time occupation in XML, the man is responsive. When there is a problem he is on it in no time as this post shows. And I could point to post after post on this bbs made year after year with the same degree of punctuality.

So no, I am not about to switch to some newer, faster, trendier XML parser. I'm sticking with the person who has done XML and continues to do XML with passion, commitment and excellence. And that person is mirod, the author of XML::Twig.

I agree: XML::Twig is superb. It is fast, it DWIMs, it supports TIMTOWTDI. My only gripes are that the number of API functions is mind-boggling, and it takes a while to find the right method from the documentation, especially if you don't know exactly what you are looking for.

Man I thought there was going to be a marriage proposal at the end of that post ;) It will definitely make me look atXML::Twig next time I need XML though.
