in thread no interest in web code?

On top of the fact that merlyn is correct — ie, cool projects get their own webspace...

The code catacombs and snippets sections are usually full of junk and are a terrible example of anything, much less as a measure of interest in anything. They're really full of as much garbage and poorly formatted whitespace as they are useful code.

That's a generalization. I've wasted many hours on things like Genetic Programming or breeding Perls. Although, that's not in the code sections either. Huh.

    Might be actually true.

But while you can easily check for yourself in CUFP or Snippets the "Categories" links at the top of the Code section give the impression (when followed), that no post was made after 2002 for that particular category (any category), as observed in the OP for CGI Programming.

Looks like a bug in the presentation of the data to me.

As a newcomer, I can say that since my earliest visit to PM I too have been under the impression that the CC section was not really happening, based on the fact that there don't seem to be any recent posts under any of the category links. It's clear from the main CC page that people are posting there, but other than paging through from the front page, there seemed no other way of accessing those posts.

What's interesting is that doing a Super Search of the code catacombs section using a category name as the search term doesn't bring up any recent items for that category either -- even with "search newest first" selected.
