I'm not Czech, mind you, but in the not too distant past I directed a production of Karel Capek's R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), and we decided it would be fun to have the characters toasting in Czech. It just kind of stuck.

i'm czech and there it spells na zdravi(recognize the I), what they wrote here above sounds more russian (na zdrOve) or slovenian (some other slavic tongue) to me. If you want it really with original czech charme use the form zdravicko (spell zdrawitchk'o with weight on the long vi (no offense emacs users)) my kephra at http://proton-ce.sourceforge.net	[reply]
