Unfortunately my marketing gag was retorting against me:
Well, it seems most people just didn't understand your humourous attempt. It happens. Just don't ket that get into your way. One of the first posts of mine here was very sarcastic too, but people just didn't get it, and it was heavily downvoted. What can I say? I survived. Also, you'll notice that some of the most renown people for being skilled Perl hackers sometimes write controversial posts that get downvoted too. So, all in all, just take it easy!
And I thougth american people have much more sense of humor than european ones!
I don't have the slightest idea, and I doubt that there's any general rule, but what could make you possibly think that the general audience here consists of american people?!? I for one, am Italian, and BTW I suppose I have a great sense of humour. But then an idiosomebody recently judged me one of the rudest Italians ever!
ex novice now back as an intiate.
Oh, don't care. Really. Anyway, later you make it clear that this is your "first real sw publication at all". Thus perhaps some less humour and some more being explicit about this circumstance along with a request for comments would have been really fruitful.
