    oops! I meant

    $data = $xml->XMLin($file, SearchPath => ['.']);

    But that's not the error your getting. What version are you using? It might have been called searchpath in your version.

    $data = $xml->XMLin($file, searchpath => ['.']);
      or simply give the full path for the $file ...
