TheMarty has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, I use Active State PDK for creating executables for Win32. Unfortunately last time I lost my PC with the only source of source ;-). There are only executables which are among users. Is there a way to extract Perl script back out of these excutables?

Well, thanks for replies... Onestly, I didn't use SuperSearch (only the normal one). But following the links you have kindly posted, it does not help as well... These posts seem to have at least few years. Something changed since then? I used Active State PDK 6.0 to create exe file.

I hope you might get the source code back, with methods descibed in other nodes. You can start using version control systems and backups.
