supressing console with perl2exe and backticksby Eradicatore (Monk) |

Just thought I would post this, since it took me a while to figure out. I wanted to use perl2exe to create a perl windows exe that I could drag files onto. That's simple enough. Then I wanted to use perl/tk for the gui, and turn off the console. again, this is easy with the "-gui" option to perl2exe. But then I wanted to use backticks to run a command and NOT have it show up a seperate window each time I ran a command (in this case metaflac.exe). I finally found the answer here: http://support.activestate.com/faq/suppress-console-windows- Justin Eltoft "If at all god's gaze upon us falls, its with a mischievous grin, look at him" -- Dave Matthews Edited by planetscape - moved the main description text out of the signature block
