newbie,
The other monks won't tell you this, but I'm going to be honest with you -- you're exactly RIGHT! There have never been any complicated games ever written for Perl, and there never will be, because you just can't write complicated games in Perl.
There's a lot of high-falutin' science behind the reason for this, but nobody who programs in Perl will ever understand any of it. However, I can tell you this, Perl is written in this very simple language called "C", and "C" gets compiled (whatever that means) to something called "assembly language", and believe me, NOBODY writes ANYTHING in "assembly language", especially complicated games!
Oh, sure, you can write very, very simple games in Perl, but nothing with the huge, rocket-science type complexity that you're looking for. That's why we're all hemming and hawing, and giving you links to links to links, because nobody wants to tell you the shameful truth: Perl can't be used to write complicated games!
I didn't want to admit it, but your words were dead accurate, we do have low opinions about ourselves, and very little self value at all. But can you blame us? All we know how to program in is Perl, which isn't even complicated!
If you want really powerful, intricate, complicated games, you're going to have switch over to Java or COBOL. And I, for one, am too insecure to even *think* about programming in those languages ... ain't gonna happen!
So please look to another language for your complicated games. As I said above, both Java and COBOL would be great choices. There are no complicated Perl games written ever, so I can't give you any link, but they can be made. Glad to be of service. "Bey".
There, I've said it, and I feel better. :)

Based on what you all are saying I can draw the following conclusions.
You are free to draw whatever erroneous conclusions you like. So am I.
I come to the conclusion that you are not able to get that it is your
attitude which stands between you and your goal. Instead of considering the answers given to you and drawing conclusions from there you go on putting down perl and pestering us with gimme gimme.
You won't get what you are looking for by demanding we provide you with whatever or else confess something and be "glad to be of service" to you, as if you had an entitlement to that. Hardly anybody will admit your claim.

Wow. I'm speechless. Realy. I said that perl wouldn't be my first choice for games and you got all of that?
People have already told you that guaging perl based on a "complicated" game criteria is absurd because that doesn't qualify it as beging able to do "complicated" programs. Those arn't the same thing. All programs are not games, and all langauges suited for games may not be suited for business apps and vice versa.
Ironicaly you don't like any of the complex programs because they are too complex for you....hmmm from that I can assume many things and draw many conclusions but it realy isn't enough information to do that with now is it?

It's not too often I am surprised by responses. Well not really.
Maybe you try to convince us what you are trying to accomplish. I am getting the feeling you are not on the up and up.
1. Hmmmm. Again it's a matter of opinion. Many hardcore gamers(I know)consider racing games to be rather childish
2. You have been told by a few people Perl is not a desired game development language. Source code issues
3 and 4. Guess again. You just have to look for them.
5. Awwwwww poor babushka. We won't do your work for you so you get all insulting.
It's interesting that you demand a complicated game but don't like complicated code.
Again what are you trying to accomplish. I am not buying the game player looking for a perl game story.

Perl is a scripting language, and is about 100 times slower than C. So, certain types of games that demand faster response times cannot be written in Perl today.
However, Perl can call libraries written in other languages.
Perl would not be my choice to make a video game, but I wouldn't say it's not possible.
Also, when machines were 100 times slower than they are now, some great games were written that are still played. These games were "complicated".
That's all without considering that the term, "complicated game" is ambiguous.
