Power save mode? You mean, there's actually times when people aren't using their computers?

And really, it should be called "power waste mode". Because if you computer is on and you're not using it, you're wasting power, not saving it. That's the power of marketing, though...

    wolfger - surely even you take a break every now and then. Perhaps to drink coffee, have a bathroom break, or dress up as a knight and hit people with a long stick?

      I'm busted... Yes, I do have a life away from the computer, occasionally. I sleep, and I dress up like a medieval warrior to hit people with sticks. But I would save more power by turning my computer off... Which I don't do. :-(

      As for drinking coffee Mountain Dew, and potty breaks, neither of those lasts long enough for the power save mode to be invoked.

    When turned off, the computer uses an average of 2.3 W. When on hibernate, the computer uses an average of 2.3 W. Do you see any difference?

      My computer uses "an average of" 0.0 Watts when turned off. If yours uses more, something's wrong with your power switch.
