I once fell asleep driving home from work (1 hour drive after several 16 hour days...) and woke up on the shoulder. Heading for a Jersey barrier. Luckily, I missed the crash. I was also very wide awake after that. emc At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation. —Igor Sikorsky, reported in AOPA Pilot magazine February 2003.
