Limits to linking?

If anyone's been looking at CUFP recently, they'll have noticed that Anonymous Monk has been trying to link all the words you can, including punctation, Everything style.
Should linking be reserved for purely Perl related words? I'm of the opinion that it should, but it would be interesting to see what people think.

I think people (inc. AMs) should be gently informed that linking should be done when it makes sense, not with total abandon. I don't think it should be made a rule, because it's more than a little subjective to term a link random, useless, or ineffective.

Add the guidelines to a FAQ or to the info page for newbies...you probably only need two guidelines - 1) make sure your link returns some information, and 2) useful, perl-related information is preferable to unrelated information.

    Many hyperlinks!

How am I to know what's junk?

    I will ignore all.

Since we seem to be answering questions and correcting code more often than making new nodes out of the blue, it's probably not a big deal. (It's still good practice to link to a suggested module, or the relevant section of the FAQ, or a unique operator you're describing.)

The signal to noise ratio seems to be much higher here, though.
