You're missing the point: it's not just my time, but that of every other monk taking the time to read the question. It's the cumulative effect that's so destructive. For every question like this, there's someone out there who says he's not going to bother, and won't answer questions anymore. That's an even bigger loss than my 3 seconds.

Comparing PerlMonks to a school is flawed as well. For one, none of us has been hired to be a teacher here. For another, a school's primary objective is to teach children to learn. We're not dealing with children here, we're dealing with adults. They should know how to find information on their own.

    And I suggest you drop the snobbery. It stinks. Hard.

    The monestary is a place for learning. In that respect, I don't think my comparison to a school is not that far off the mark. Further, the OP learned something today: the existance of job.perl.org. He also learned that certain people are really, really uptight. Or maybe that's just what I learned.
