He was offering it as a suggestion to avoid having to write a Perl script to do this at all. You described it as a problem that you need solved, not as a small piece of a puzzle that you're writing a larger Perl script to solve. If it's a problem in and of itself, just use a simple pre-written non-Perl tool to do it, if that's the best thing to do.	[reply]
