in thread poll ideas quest

  • a sundial
  • the neighbours dog, which starts yelping at precisely 5am every morning
  • my mobile phone
  • /bin/date
  • the status line on my screen session, which is given by caption always "%{Yb} %D %Y-%02m-%02d %0c:%s %{k}|%{G} %l %{k}|%{W} %-w%{+u}%n %t%{-u}%+w"

    a sundial

Ah yes, that's a nice idea. (Some people can tell the time by looking at the sun but I can never read the figures.)

    my mobile phone
    /bin/date
    the status line on my screen session, which is given by caption always "%{Yb} %D %Y-%02m-%02d %0c:%s %{k}|%{G} %l %{k}|%{W} %-w%{+u}%n %t%{-u}%+w"

I have the same problem with these options as above. These are just digital clocks (except that some mobile phones can also show an analog clock in which case I'd like to know which one yo prefer).

I'd have to go for digital - analog clocks take up way too much screen real estate :p

Another one that occurred to me after posting is an hourglass - although inverting it every 60 minutes can get a little tedious ;)
