No particular reason. Certainly not a fundamental one, just it seemed to me to be distinctive and appropriate, since I live in Europe. I also think I must have seen someone else using it in other mailing lists or newsgroups - it must have struck me because the IMHO the psychological feeling that "Just my 2 Cents" gives is to implicitly refer to USD...
