Each module on CPAN now has a forum page that can be used for discussions. Alternatively, you could set up a Google Group. I use both but I prefer the latter. -- John.	[reply]

It looks like the forum page is used as a last resort, and not something that people will use as general place for usage discussion. Are Google groups web forums? I'm basically looking for a place that hosts those gnu/mailman mailing lists.	[reply]

Google Groups has a web interface but it also functions like a mailing list and subscribers can set the type of delivery that the want such as Full, Daily Digest, Weekly Digest, etc. It also has nice built-in searching (as you can imagine :-)) and posting stats and management. Here is one of mine. It works for me but you may prefer a real mailing list. -- John.	[reply]

that was easy (at least in my case) - I went to http://www.perl.org, clicked "mailing lists" there, and clicked on a link to create a list, and it was created quite quickly. Well, not exactly that easy - a link was broken, I wrote a letter to point this out, and mailing list for CPAN module that I maintain (Tcl::Tk) was created very quickly with a kind help of Ask Bjoern Just try it, people there are very helpful! Hi, Under "The Perl Community section", a link called "mail lists". Click on this and on the page that comes up click "Submit New List" on the left. Hope this helps. Displeaser	[reply]

You have a number of options, Google Groups as John suggested or perhaps starting a project on sourceforge which will host project mailling lists for you, Some ISPs offer the facility to host a mailling list, or you can host it yourself on an inexpensive virtual server or co-lo machine (or persuade a friend with such a facility to do it for you). People do all of these things and more. /J\	[reply]

I use Yahoo Groups for a number of projects. Mailing lists with archive, file area, polls etc. The down-side is the random spam attempts (Bangalore related job offerings mostly sigh), which means it's a good idea to configure the list to keep new subscribers moderated, and then allow them to post after they send their first on-topic e-mail. Other than that, it's a great service. /J	[reply]
