I am still waiting for Acme::Client::MindControl to come along. Specifically I need `Acme::Client::MindControl->read` to figure out what they really want and can't seem to put into words, and `Acme::Client::MindControl->write` so I can convince them of what they really want. And lastly, I know this might be asking too much, but I'd like `Acme::Client::MindControl->release(endorphin => $amount)` so that they will be happy with whatever I end up building for them. Since we've already done the favorite modules thing for this year, maybe you can change your query to "Favorite Modules of 2006" to find out what people want their favorite module to be in the next year. :) Personally, I'd like some SOAP and XML modules with interfaces that don't require a lot of typing. :) -- brian d foy <brian@stonehenge.com>	[reply]

My decision is not very difficult, as I didn't use much modules. Out of those, I chose those that solved exactly what my problem was. Other modules I don't list here might also be very good, it's just that they do something else than my task. The main point in evaluating them is whether I like the interface of the module or not, many modules I used are not here because they failed this criterium. unsurprisingly, I like best module that I currently maintain, http://search.cpan.org/dist/Tcl-Tk, because it considerably overweigh Tk for many reasons	[reply]

I hope PPI will have become a favorite module of mine in six months. Also, hopefully I've written something using Catalyst and ended up pleased with the result. A contender in the small-utility-module category is IO::String which saves the day when dealing with modules which have a scalar-challenged interface and only accepts file handles for input/output. /J	[reply]
