I haven't actually heard of anyone using this yet. Patrick Galbraith talked about adding some support for it in his version of DBD::mysql so you might check his CPAN directory.

This version has support for embedded mysql http://search.cpan.org/~capttofu/DBD-mysql-2.9015_3/, but the interface will be changing. I don't much like the idea that you can't have both the embedded version of DBD::mysql and the standard version installed at the same time.	[reply]
