Argh! False impatience strikes again! I did do a super-search for "quips" and "quotes" but for some reason (unknown now) excluded the [id://Meditations] section. But at least I still have a general-purpose solution for the future...

    Yes, you do, and perhaps you can change it to gather the quotes on the CB when no-one's on it O:-)
      i was actually going to suggest this if nobody else did!

      Yes, please, by all means, encourage people to send a few hundred page hits to a web site that is already plenty slow so that they can satisfy their curiosity about something trivial. *sigh*

        I'm pretty sure cog is kidding. As far as the original script goes, I made sure to include a pause between hits, and ran it on a Sunday. I'd hope the "Beefy Boxes and Bandwidth..." I see advertised are robust enough to handle the extra load. Or is that the hidden 19th quip? ;-)
