Again, the point is to get away from creating and/or using actual files, trying to do as much "in memory" as possible..

Well.. you could try running convert via IPC::Open2 AFIAK convert uses the "-" filename to mean STDIN and STDOUT. "What should it profit a man, if he should win a flame war, yet lose his cool?"	[reply]
