For the record the only one here that I dont do myself regularly is the hash initialization. IMO you may find that finding a better font to code in will remove this one from happening. Too many fixed size fonts have really crappy {} symbols that look far too similar to (). The point should stand out damnit!

    The various language variants of WST_ are _less_nasty_ than some (for 'doze), though they still leave much to be desired. Even better, IMO, is the proggy.... fontset, with many plusses, including slashed or dotted zeroes, readily distinguishable { and ( (with bold variants, which help me lot), etc.

    Had semi-seriously considered building my own, with special attention to diffs between curly and paren, semi and colon, etc...
    but good sense (as in limited graphic talents and knowledge so eone else has already done it well) has so far prevailed.

      Yeah I credit proggy fonts with the elimination of this type of error for my daya to day to usage. They are much better than the courier variants.

    I don't do it because I can't tell the difference between the glyphs on the screen: I do it because I'm stupid. I have ProFont in BBEdit and whatever vim normally uses, and it's bery clear what is what. :)

      That very versus bery is more common in North Portugal. People can't tell when we are speaking v or b. And more, I don't know why keyboards still habe then near each other.
