Define 'dead'. If 'dead' means that noone uses it, then it isn't dead, since I still use it. Also note, that the maintainer of the Net::IRC-module has changed: Net-IRC-0.74 is released by Jeremy Muhlich (17 Apr 2003), and Net-IRC-0.73 by T.J. Eckman (02 Jan 2002). An important change between those two versions is that the code is cleaned up, as in, many useless comments removed... And, when I mailed to Jeremy Muhlich about 4 monts ago (reporting something about the error-setting that is done in Net::IRC) I got a reply that he would check it out... For the people intrested in knowing what I reported: some methodes in Net::IRC do set the error-flags, but do not reset them at the start of the sub... (the connect sub for example, if the connection failed then the error flag will be set, if you try it again, and it succeeded the error-flag is still set, which means you have to reset it yourself, which I consider to be a bad thing).update: added small note...
