biochris has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Could you please tell me how can I make my perl script a stand alone exe for Windows? I am aware of perl2exe already; I was thinking some different means some monk may know. Thanks very much for time and consideration.

    PerlApp? PAR?

Note that regardless of what you do, your Perl source will always be easy to extract from the executable. If that's your motivation for wanting to have an EXE, you'll have to look for another language.

    Makeshifts last the longest.

I don't care about that. My goal is to have my perl program run on windows machines without perl installed. Thanks for the response
