Friendly cross atlantic ragging aside; all languages,
operating systems, programming paradigms and editors
are just tools. You use the right tool for the job.
People discovered that thousands of years ago. I don't
see where the confusion lies.
Also, diversity is the best and probably the only defence
against a future where change is the only constant. I would
hold this to be a fairly universal truth, not only applying
to computing. For example, there is currently a dearth of
genetic diversity. We are living in the period of time that
has more species becoming extinct than at any other time in
history.
