There's always if( y/A-Za-z/A-Za-z/ ) { ... }, which technically isn't a regex . . . :) Update: And then after I finish playing around and post, lo and behold Re: Challenge - Creative Way To Detect Alpha Characters already's beat me to the punch. :/
