The Scriptorium impact on the Titlebar and the Front page

IMO, with the arrival of this new section (Scriptorium), some management must be done to the Monastery title bar and/or the front page to help Monks comenting there.

Thanks to demerphq, all has been (well) done for the cabalists to get here through their dedicated nodelet. But, as stated by the specific policy of the section, every monks should be able to comments. This will certainly be difficult with the lack of more "generalistic" entry points.

This is perhaps also the time for the man with a q to exhaust his Titlebar Settings bunch of patches, to handle this gracefully, no ?

Subsidiary question: should a writeup here be taken into account as the ones in other sections or not (as it seems for now) ?

Patience. We've barely created the section. It may eventually make it into the title bar and/or "Sections" nodelet, but I think "Left Overs" is more likely. But there will never be any effect of this section upon the front page (it isn't appropriate there), and we don't need to rush; with more experience in how discussions here work, we can better decide policy. Although I think that allowing the public to comment within dicussions here is a good idea, don't make a big deal about "stated ... specific policy" since allowing public comment was also a matter of expediency since doing otherwise requires more site changes. I'd also like to ammend my title suggestion to "Inner Scriptorium", to better reflect that much of what is discussed here should be of little concern to most of our users even though anyone who has the interest can take the time to read. - tye	[reply]

I like "Site Scriptorium" more than "Inner Scriptorium" personally. It goes with the "Site Manuscript" designation used elsewhere a bit better I think. "Inner" seems more appropriate than "Site". But Scriptorium sounds like a bad Metallica song.	[reply]

I like “Inner Scriptorium” better. “Site Scriptorium” suggests that the section is somehow related to the use of the site, which is not the case. Makeshifts last the longest.	[reply]

Putting a link in the Leftovers nodelet might be good, but I think it would be more confusing than beneficial to put this section in the titlebar.	[reply]

I think that in the links section (=those 4 lines of links at the top of each page), Scriptorium belongs to the immediate right of Perlmonks Discussion, instead of that link to Library, which is most definitely on the wrong line anyway — though I'm not sure whe're I'd put it instead. Perhaps one line lower, to the right of Q&A, which has a related purpose.	[reply]

I have to agree with tye. This probably shouldn't be on the front page at all. It doesn't belong there. I don't even like seeing it in the newest nodes section, but I guess you have to put it somewhere.	[reply]

If you don't like seeing it in Newest Nodes, you can go to your User settings and turn it off. ;) There's a multi-select box there which allows you to select the sections that you wish not to see in Newest Nodes. Dave	[reply]
