Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I'm new the web site design... I've set up a form and would like the for to be sent to my email address... Simple right? I would like to use cgi in order to process the form. I had a cgi script that was working on my old web site at an old hosting company. But, it seems not to work on the new hosting company... I need help on fixing the script in order to get it up and running. Help

In what fashion does it not work? What's in your error log? There's no info for us to work with here.

As for existing packages, someone recommended NMS as a CGI emailer earlier today.

  • Is the Perl interpreter in the same place as it was on the old host (#!/usr/local/bin/ , #!/usr/bin/ ...)?
  • Is your directory structure the same -- paths changed?
  • Do you have the correct permissions?
  • update Can you post some of your code?

You said you were new to CGI, so you may want to check out the tutorials section. There is plenty of good information there if you are interested.
