in thread Job Posting Section?

Might be worth volunteering to help implement if you think it worthwhile functionality.

Why volunteer when I can just use the following websites which have this functionality?:

  • Monster.com
  • ComputerJobs.com
  • Dice.com
  • HotJobs.com
I could list many more. Apparently, they view the functionality as "worthwhile," as do the plethora of job seekers and employers who use the service every day.

    Good question :-) I wouldn't either.

I read your post as "stuff that jobs.perl.org should have". My bad.

I'm not trying to say that CV uploads are worthless! Just that, in my experience, employers don't use them.

The job sites love them since they get tons of demographic info that they can resell, have the opportunity to up-sell their users to training, etc. (Having done some usability work for a certain large job site this was explained to me in excruciating detail :-)

Users like having CV management services.

Agents love being able to buy and search bulk lists.

    Employers? Nope. YMMV.
