With requests about identifying IP address of a router and trying to use IM, you probably know that Iam trying to get somewhere. Just wanted to update monks that with your help, I completed my work. My problem: I need to know the dynamic IP address at my home router assigned by ISP. Solution: I don't have a webserver to log the IP address. I want to have it just when I want it. I finally have a working perl script which runs like a daemon on my home machine. It connects to AOL as user A and waits. When I login to AIM as user B from whereever Iam working/travelling and send IM to user A, I will receive my IP address as IM sent by user A Thanks again to all the monks.
