to spin-off tachyons suggestion of using Apache/.htaccess: the easiest thing to use on the windows-box would be a WebDAV-share on the sever realized using apache-mod_dav (apache2 IIRC has it on-board, apache1 needs a seperate module). have a look at webdav.org and this HOWTO to get started on that road... Edit:fixed broken sentence to give some meaning to this post...*sigh*
