Hi, thanks again casey! The only question left is the folowing : if $t="1234" and $_="abcd" and the script does an s/hello/$t/seee; what the "seee" do change? I think it does nothing but... can't find why it is in the script...	[reply]

Check perlop for the `s` operator. It gives a clear definition of `s` statement modifiers. In you case, those modifiers don't help much... look up what 'i' or 'g' does... Am I helping you with your homework? -- Casey I am a superhero.	[reply] [d/l] [select]
