Perldoc.com gone?

GaryG has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

For the longest time, I've used www.perldoc.com
for my online source of Perl documentation.
Today, I'm greeted with an Admin. page at this URL:
https://www.perldoc.com:19638/webhost/rollout/site (see link above).
Anybody know what gives, where the online docs are going,
and/or if this is a temporary malfunction?
Thx,
- G -

    http://perldoc.com:

    "Perldoc Website Under Construction

The Perldoc website is in the process of moving to a new web server/web host. The website will be back online within the next few days. Sorry for the inconvience."

But of course you could always use the application `perldoc`, which will show the same ;-)

All code is usually tested, but rarely trusted.
      Curious?!?
Using the fully qualified URL avoids that nice notice.
      Thx.

Seems like a problem with the web host. Perhaps someone needs to pay the bill, or perhaps the site is moving somewhere new.

Update: Comments above were based on the http://www.perldoc.com URL and not the http://perldoc.com URL, which gives a great deal more info. :-)

I corrected that to perldoc.com. I'd be surprised if
      it's a $$$ issue; perhaps they're moving. I've seen no
notices & no news of it on other Perl sites.
      Surprised! mostly.

There should have been a mirror site for Perldoc.com which is used by lots of Perl user for the latest and accurate documentation. We do have one for CPAN and Perlmonks. I am sure Perl.com will have one too.

If you're running mod_perl, then Apache::Perldoc or Apache::Pod are better. Rather than giving you the docs for the latest released version of a module, they give you the docs for the version you actually have installed. And if you the module is not installed, they tell you that too. Plus of course they're faster than surfing over the interweb.
