    I said "who", not "what" ... wiseguy ... :)

    The non-Perl non-Unix types would have learned it from Perl and Unix types :)

    We all know this came from sed, or at least we should, but I'd still wager many more people use Perl than sed today, and in fact, most Perl programmers will write what can be done in sed in Perl just for future expandability. IMHO, sed folks are becoming increasingly rare to find as time goes on.
