Update: Jesus, people, enough with the -6! I wasn't completely serious here. On the other hand, if you're interviewing for just "Perl skills" as opposed to "application design skills", "testing skills", "system administration skills", or whatever else, you're probably looking for someone who is intimately familiar with how Perl behaves. And since Perl golf is all about exploiting strange corners of the language, I think it's a decent test of "Perl skills".
