OK, I should have seen this the first time 'round:

$title = $mech->title(); # get the new title? print "$upLoadUrl is titled [$upLoadTitle]\n"; print "resp = [ " . Dumper( $resp ) . "]\n";

You probably meant to print out $title and not $upLoadTitle.
