Howdy!
Switch is a source filter, so that comes with extra-crunchy behavior at times. I'm not up on the
fine details of where it will bite you, but that may be the case. What do you get from Deparse when
you comment out "use Switch", etc.? The results you show certainly raise eyebrows.

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
