Thank you for the frank, open, and total claim of fault with no dithering or excuses. We all make mistakes. It'd be nice if more people admitted them, worked to mitigate and correct them, and owned their actions. I was away form the site a few days and wasn't inconvenienced by this. Honestly, I probably wouldn't remember the problem after a couple of days even if I had. I will, however, remember the response for some time. It's a classy example for everyone to follow when we screw up in the future.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
