I'll make the bold gesture of demanding that you read
every one of my columns that mentions CGI and
every one of my columns that mentions DBI.
Not only will you likely learn quite a bit, but if you can understand how I use CGI and DBI when I do, then you're likely a long way towards being an employable programmer in those areas. I'd certainly hire anyone who understood every one of my columns, and probably pass over anyone who couldn't explain my own code to me.

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
