Wow, that's a very generous idea. Perhaps this could
recreate or extend the commons, so we can work on projects together
and report back at perlmonks.org about them.. open a working perl environment to
multiple perlhackers on the same box so you can use each
other's modules and so on. If you have a few higher grade
monks around, one at all times, then people could request they
install x from cpan and save diskspace from duplicated modules too.
I'd done some work on making network callable code objects through html and cgi, but this sounds lots more fun. How about requiring terse, elegant code, who needs a lot of disk space on your machine? This is where monks can prove their stuff! Maybe email (unless needed for a hack) should be forwarding only, otherwise lots o' spam. Maybe high tide mark on the homepage so we can see how many monks are online at the moment?
