DBIx::Class::Schema::Versioned does something of this sort. Also, you can make all your changes in the database and then use DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader and use the make_schema_at method to upgrade your schema code.
I do it like this:
#!/usr/bin/perl
## this works fine for development
## but should probably add some production environment vars too
use FindBin;
use DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader qw| make_schema_at |;
make_schema_at(
"MyApp::Schema",
{
debug => 1,
use_namespaces => 0,
components => ["InflateColumn::DateTime"],
dump_directory => "$FindBin::Bin/../lib"
},
[ "dbi:mysql:dbname", "user", "pass" ]
);
Then call perl script/*update*

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
